My name is Wendy Liu, and I am from Suizhou, Hubei Province, China, one of the birthplaces of Chinese civilisation. Influenced by the country's long history and culture, I began learning Chinese calligraphy at the age of five, a visual art form that carries Chinese characters and cultural heritage. Through thirty years of persistent study, I have not only gained an appreciation for the beauty of traditional Chinese art, but also a peaceful and strong heart. The process of practising calligraphy is like giving myself a space for meditation. As the ink flows across the paper, I am cultivating my mind and finding inspiration in my life. If you would like to explore the charm of Chinese calligraphy with me, please contact me through Cultural Conversations to find out about individual tuition, upcoming classes or commissioning a piece.
