BIPOC Businesses

Their Business Journey

This registry is a safe and accessible platform to connect clients and entrepreneurs. They are people who have been historically underrepresented, bringing to Whakatū/Nelson their precious skills and knowledge.

We invite those from Non-Western and BIPOC communities to co-create a Business Directory.

Get involved in their business journey movement

Help us spread the word on social media, or offer press and financial support as a partner.

How does it work?

When you access an offering, Cultural Conversations sometimes takes a commission.  The commission allows us to maintain the platform and grow, and have a support person available if needed.

What the support can look like:

Being present when meeting the client

Communication support

Translation

Support with tax and invoices

Offering a safe space for the service

The platform keeps our whānau safe and supported — and clients too, with secure payments and refunds if needed. It’s all about manaaki: backing BIPOC wāhine to step into mainstream spaces with confidence and authenticity.
